Chelsea’s staff turnover has kept up with the speed of their player trading since the new owners came in, and now a senior scout has left after nine years with the club.
Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali have ushered in a new era at Stamford Bridge, which has seen major changes on the pitch as a result. Reece James is the only surviving member of the 2021 Champions League squad.
Some much-loved members of staff have also departed. Petr Cech left his role as Technical and Performance advisor after the departure of Roman Abramovich.

Former Chelsea scout leaves after nine years at the club
Former Senior International Scout James Bell-Walker had been with the club since 2016, however announced on Linkedin last week that he had decided to move on and explore other opportunities.
He said: “After 9 enjoyable and successful years working within the Scouting and Recruitment department at Chelsea, the time is right for me to move on and explore further opportunities. During my time at the Club, I have had the privilege of working with some exceptional staff and players, witnessing the Club enjoy fantastic success, including Premier League and Champions League trophies (to name a few).
“I leave with only positive experiences of my time at Chelsea, and I wish the Club, and everyone involved continued success in the future. I’m excited to see what the future holds.”
The scouting role is currently an important one at the club, meaning they will have to do well to hire the right replacement in order to continue to carry out the mantra laid out by Boehly and co.
Chelsea’s transfer policy under Todd Boehly
Chelsea’s transfer policy over the past few seasons has relied on them unearthing some of the world’s best young talents, and bringing them in ahead of their elite rivals.
The Blues are reaping the rewards of this right now in the form of Estevao Willian and Andrey Santos, with plenty more to come in the coming months and years.
Geovany Quenda, Kendry Paez, Mike Penders and Dastan Satpaev are amongst the names yet to announce themselves to the Stamford Bridge faithful who are currently starring elsewhere.
The Blues are not likely to abandon this pursuit in the coming years, making finding Bell-Walker’s replacement one of the priorities at the club right now.
