The NBA kicked off last night and again, it’s BBNBA all the way, especially for Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Cason Wallace, who carried the Oklahoma City Thunder to a double-overtime win over Reed Sheppard and the Houston Rockets!!

Check out the [list of former Cats](https://ukathletics.com/news/2025/10/21/kentucky-places-27-on-nba-opening-day-rosters-leads-nation-for-14th-consecutive-season/) who are starting the season:

Amari Williams – Boston Celtics

Something that BBN has always been proud of is their pros. You won’t see another fanbase follow their players into the league quite UK, despite most of these guys being one-and-done.

Kentucky and its fans can also be proud of the fact that former Cats Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Cason Wallace are coming off an NBA Championship.

More specifically, SGA is coming off of one of the best seasons the NBA has ever seen. Scoring title, MVP, NBA Finals, and NBA Finals MVP. It was by far and away the best season a former Cat has ever had.

What do you think, will SGA and Wallace repeat as champions, or could another former Cat take the reigns?

The reigning MVP sank two free throws with 2.3 seconds remaining for a 35-point performance to lift the defending champs to a 125-124 win over the Rockets.

The preseason awards keep rolling in for Oweh.

Yikes. You never see Russell Wilson call anyone out like this. Sean must have hurt deep.

Who do you have taking home the championship this year?

It’s going to be another fun season!

Shocked to see the SEC follow through with this, but very glad they did.

Tough look missing those 2 PATs, but should’ve never been put in that position.
