Former Premier League striker Troy Deeney has explained why he has been questioned by football supporters recently, and it involves Chelsea star Moises Caicedo.
Chelsea beat Nottingham Forest 3-0 at the City Ground last weekend, but Caicedo did not start the game.
Even so, the midfielder still managed to find his way into Deeney’s team of the week.
Caicedo recently changed his agent, but it is not thought that the 23-year-old is angling for a transfer or anything like that.

Troy Deeney stands by decision to include Chelsea’s Moises Caicedo in his team of the week
Deeney naming Caicedo in his team of the week is what has caused the ex-Watford striker to face backlash.
The Ecuadorian only played the second half of Chelsea’s 3-0 win against Forest, but Deeney is sticking with his decision to include him.
“I’ve had a bit of heat this week,” the ex-Watford striker said on The Football Exchange. “I put Moises Caicedo in my team of the week this week and I got a lot of heat considering that he only came on at half-time.
“But I think he was so important and so influential in that game that I had to put him in.”
Deeney also included Acheampong in his team of the week, and his selection cannot be questioned.
The young defender played most of the game, scored one goal and managed to keep a clean sheet. While Caicedo may not have warranted a place in Deeney’s latest team of the week, Acheampong definitely did.
Whatever the case, Caicedo has had a great season overall, with the Ecuador international even adding goals to his game. His strike against Liverpool just before the international break was an excellent one.

Danny Welbeck labels Moises Caicedo ‘incredible’
Danny Welbeck has also praised Caicedo recently, getting a chance to play alongside the Chelsea man at Brighton & Hove Albion.
“I remember Moises came and then he went on loan to Belgium,” Welbeck said. “And when he came back, it was just like everything clicked into place for him and he is an incredible player.”
After being named on the bench at the City Ground, you would expect Caicedo to start in Chelsea’s Champions League clash against Ajax on Wednesday night.
It is a match that Chelsea have been predicted to win, and if Caicedo starts, they have a very good chance of doing so.
After that, Enzo Maresca’s men take on Sunderland in the Premier League, another game where they will be expected to earn all three points.
