England announce two Chelsea talents in squad for U17 World Cup, including teenager John Terry rates

England are competing at the Under-17 World Cup next month, and two Chelsea prospects have been selected in the squad.

The Young Lions will take part in the 48-team tournament in Qatar, which runs from 3 November until 27 November. It will please the Chelsea academy that two Blues talents have been included in a 21-man squad, too.

In 2017, England won the U17 World Cup for the first time with a group stacked with future stars, including Manchester City’s Phil Foden.

Steve Cooper’s squad also included Marc Guehi, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Conor Gallagher and George McEachran, who all developed at Cobham. Unfortunately, they’ve all since left Chelsea to help their club careers.

Walsh, who’s played three first-team games for Chelsea, will be a familiar name to supporters. The teenage central midfielder is a rising star with so much potential, especially because he’s extremely comfortable and technical when in possession.

In fact, Walsh has trained with Chelsea’s senior squad this week ahead of their Champions League match at home to Ajax on Wednesday night.

What John Terry said about Landon Emenalo

Emenalo is an extremely versatile footballer, playing mostly at left-back so far in the 2025-26 season for Chelsea’s U21 side.

Last month, Blues legend John Terry delivered a glowing verdict on Emenalo. He said: “Landon is a very good footballer. I think he plays for the first team and comes through. He currently plays left-back, he’s not a left-back, he can play left centre-half, he prefers to play in midfield as a six. A big future, a really good player.”

If Terry is hyping up the emerging talent, fans should be very excited. How long will it be before Enzo Maresca decides to give him a first-team debut?
