NFL Trade Deadline Candidates: 5 Players Who Could Be on the Move

With the NFL trade imminent, the league is experiencing a level of stress akin to fourth-quarter pressure. As general managers hunt to fill that missing place and struggling leagues quietly opt for a rebuild, expect a few big names to switch jerseys. These legendary players could make an impact on the season in a big way. Mark Andrews is in the first; read in to find other players.

Andrews is in the last year of his deal with the Ravens club, which is already trimming the playoffs. He remains an elite red-zone player, but the Ravens have depth at tight end and may cash in if playoff hopes fade. He is a first-round pick, and teams must pay a 1A TE rate. Moreover, reports said that Andrews is already flagged as a player to track ahead of the deadline.

Trey Hendrickson, Edge Rusher, Cincinnati Bengals

Cincinnati Bengals defensive end Trey Hendrickson (91) watches a replay as the Detroit Lions celebrate a touchdown in the fourth quarter of the NFL Week 5 game between the Cincinnati Bengals and the Detroit Lions at Paycor Stadium in downtown Cincinnati on Sunday, Oct. 5, 2025. The Bengals continued a losing streak, falling 37-24 to the Lions.

Hendricks topped the team in sacks in 2024 and has since become a formidable pass rusher with a year left on his deal. The Bengals have his trade request simmering and could trade him rather than lose him for nothing next spring. The pass rusher is a top-three draft pick or a combo of picks. Moreover, talks spread like wildfire about the Chiefs’ bad 49ers, who desperately need an edge rusher.

David Njoku, Tight End, Browns

Cleveland Browns tight end David Njoku comes down with the ball during practice at the team’s minicamp June 11, 2025, in Berea, Ohio.

Njoku’s prowess is no stranger to the NFL world. But Cleveland’s Browns offense is not up to par this season, and the team is open to younger alternatives. Njoku is in a one-year deal window where his trade could turn hopeful for TE-needy contenders. Moreover, Tampa Bay could choose him alongside Evans and Chris Godwin. Even for the Los Angeles Chargers, missing spots at tight end makes sense. Njoku has 23 catches for 210 yards. He still has his name at the top after catching TE in the league.

Jaelan Phillips, Miami Dolphins

Jalelan Phillips could be the next in line. Known as one of the most talented and explosive young rushers, multiple injuries have put him in dire straits with the Dolphins this season. He becomes a realistic trade chip with the league needing a pro edge rusher. The Chiefs are in a favorable spot now, and could mix Phillips with Chris Jones to perfect their defense. Another team could be the Eagles, who lost Haason Reddick. As Jaelan has limited action this season, the Dolphins might trade him for a solid Day 2 pick offer.

Wyatt Teller, Cleveland Browns

Cleveland Browns, Wyatt Teller

Cleveland Browns offensive guard Wyatt Teller looks to make a block during OTA practice on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 in Berea.

Interior linemen barely move, but Tellers’ case is different. Cleveland could save a major cap if they move him. Major contenders with struggles might be eyeing him. One team could be the Seattle Seahawks, who urgently need help saving Geno Smith after injuries have smashed up their interior line. The Cowboys are always on the hunt for physical guards and may also be interested. So, the Dallas Cowboys and Seattle Seahawks could benefit if they add a powerful guy to their roster.

His three-time Pro Bowl selections and heavy zone blocking data make him a plug-and-play option for the teams.

Whether the Jets are taking a swing at Andrews or the 49ers are adding another rusher, expect some interesting playoff moves this season, and these are just some players.
