Chelsea have added 33 youngsters to their Champions League squad registration with UEFA ahead of tonight's league phase fixture against Ajax. Included in their additions to that B list are the sons of former Blues' defender Thiago Silva, Isago, and Michael Emenalo's son, Landon.

Highly-rated youngsters Ryan Kavuma-McQueen, Ibrahim Rabbaj and Shim Mheuka. Rules permit clubs to add an unlimited number of players, who were born on or after January 1, 2004, to their B list the night before the match.

The Daily Mail have claimed that Chelsea have added the large number of academy stars to avoid including them individually before games in the future. It means that should he need to, Enzo Maresca can fill his matchday squad with players from their B list.

Chelsea welcome Ajax to west London this evening, looking to make it back-to-back wins in the primary European competition. Maresca's men lost to Bayern Munich in their opening game before narrowly missing Benfica last time out, as the Champions League continues this midweek.

They will be without Joao Pedro, who is suspended, meaning Marc Guiu could be handed a first start of the season since his loan spell at Sunderland was cut short.

Here is Chelsea's Champions League squad in full following their new additions;
