Leeds United have hit a bit of a rough patch in their Premier League season.

Daniel Farke’s side have failed to win their last three league matches, with Leeds’ last victory coming against Wolves on 20 September.

Goals from Joe Rodon and Sean Longstaff earned Leeds a point against Bournemouth, which started their winless streak.

Meanwhile, Brenden Aaronson’s dire performance against Burnley reinforced that he’s just not good enough to compete at the top level at the moment.

Fans will no doubt already feel anxious about their recent displays, and the feeling will not be subdued by Tim Sherwood’s latest comments.

Tim Sherwood predicts Leeds relegation

Leeds fans will be a bit green with envy at Sunderland’s start to the Premier League season.

Their fellow recently promoted Championship side are currently seventh in the league after winning four out of a possible eight games.

Meanwhile, the Whites are stuck in the relegation zone, and Burnley, who are 17th, are barely keeping their heads above water.

As a result, Sherwood believes both sides will continue to find it difficult to navigate the first division.

When asked on Sky Sports News on Wednesday to list three teams who could be relegated this season, he said: “Wolves have it all to do in January to get them out of trouble with this current squad.

“Burnley might not have enough. And I think Leeds might go as well.”

His prediction will likely anger Leeds fans, who watched their side lift the Championship trophy only a few months ago.

Daniel Farke needs to adapt if Leeds are to avoid relegation

Objectively speaking, Leeds have not performed terribly in the Premier League from a statistical standpoint.

The Whites have won two games this season and have eight points from eight games

Leeds have netted seven goals this season

They have conceded 13 times

Indeed, Farke’s side actually rank 16th for goals conceded in the league and are 11th for expected goals.

The issue is that while Leeds are creating, the Premier League side are not converting their chances. In fact, the Whites rank 16th for goals scored in the division.

This demonstrates that if Farke makes a couple of slight tweaks to ensure a more defensively disciplined, clinical side, Leeds could be looking at a mid-table finish this season.

With Leeds the favourites against West Ham, a win at Elland Road would be a good place to start.
