Stephen A Smith Goes on Rant Over Commanders Front Office Decisions

It hasn’t been a pretty year for the Washington Commanders or Jayden Daniels, a disappointing development after an impressive year a season ago. The Commanders looked like one of the bright teams in the NFL just a few months ago, but now sit at 3-4 and are banged up with injuries.

After losing 44-22 to the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday in Week 7, the pressure is starting to hit Washington.

It was a tough offseason for the Commanders, too, with star wide receiver Terry McLaurin looking to get paid. McLaurin missed practices, but eventually got the money he was looking for.

Despite that, Stephen A. Smith believes that not practicing every day in the preseason eventually contributed to the injury that he’s dealing with, adding that the Commanders' front office should be criticized for what it did in the summer.

"The Commanders have messed this season up," Smith said. "They really messed it up. The Washington Commanders messed up because they took for granted what happened last year.

"They thought they could play games. I'm blaming their front office for anything that's happened this season. Take into account the quad (injury) as being in football shape and being in proper condition (for McLaurin). They let business get in the way of the business of winning games and now it's messing with them on the football field."

It’s tough to say that McLaurin's injury is due to missing some practices in the preseason, but it also isn't unfair.

He’s dealing with a quad injury, which could be a result of not getting enough reps leading up to the season.

Regardless, this isn’t the time for the Commanders to point fingers. They still have an opportunity to make the playoffs, despite playing poorly.

However, things won’t exactly be easy for them over the next few weeks, taking on the Kansas City Chiefs, Seattle Seahawks, and Detroit Lions in their next three games.
