Liverpool fan Paddy Pimblett has vowed to pick a fight with his rival Ilia Topuria if they meet when the Reds take on Real Madrid.
Marca have been speaking to the UFC fighter today about being a Liverpool fan, Real Madrid and what he’ll do if he encounters Topuria outside of the octagon.
Pimblett is being lined up for a fight with Topuria at some point in the near future as he continues to move up the UFC rankings.
The pair have had more than one falling out behind the scenes, with Pimblett admitting in this interview that their rivalry is now a personal one.
The rivalry extends to the football pitch too. Pimblett is a Liverpool fan, while Topuria is a Real Madrid fan. That’s only deepened the dislike between the two given the storied history between both football clubs.
That rivalry is set to be renewed when Liverpool host Real Madrid in the Champions League at Anfield in November.
Pimblett plans on being there and hopes Topuria is invited as well. If they do, he has a special plan for him.
“I just don’t like Real Madrid as it is. We’ve lost two Champions League finals against them,” he said.
“We’re playing Real Madrid next month. I’m looking forward to it. I hope they invite Ilia. We’re playing Real Madrid at Anfield. Let Real Madrid invite Ilia, and I’ll throw a water bottle at his head or something, so he’ll fight me.”
The majority of Liverpool fans will be more concerned about the football.
