Tottenham and Chelsea sources rubbish claims–Transfer battle between pair not happening

Chelsea and Tottenham have both denied interest in Palmeiras striker Vitor Roque. The rumours linking him with a Premier League move were dismissed by journalist Jorge Nicola.

He revealed on his [**YouTube channel**](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6uPcaNF-1Ng) that he spoke directly with Chelsea representatives. _“The name is completely ruled out. Chelsea never thought about, nor intends to think about, signing Vitor Roque,”_ he stated.

Jorge Nicola also explained that Palmeiras have not received any contact or offer for the player. The club believe that _“any noise around the forward comes from people close to Vitor trying to give him visibility abroad.”_

Tottenham had also been mentioned in recent reports, especially given Richarlison’s poor form and Dominic Solanke’s injury. But Jorge Nicola added that Spurs have two centre-forwards who, in their view, are ahead of Vitor Roque.

Palmeiras remain confident in their investment. The club paid £21m (€25m) to sign Roque from Barcelona and expect him to stay for the foreseeable future. _“Palmeiras are very confident that the £21m invested will keep Vitor Roque here for a long time,”_ Nicola said.

After quiet spells at Barcelona and Betis, Vitor Roque has rediscovered his form in Brazil. So far, he has 17 goals and four assists in 46 matches for Palmeiras, proving his value to Abel Ferreira’s team.
