The Green Bay Packers needed to make a splash to bolster their Super Bowl chances.
With that in mind, they made sure that Micah Parsons didn’t land anywhere else.
So far, that offseason trade with the Dallas Cowboys has worked like a charm.
After one of the best games of his NFL career, the edge rusher is now the favorite to win Defensive Player of the Year.
According to Kalshi Sports, Parsons has a 33 percent chance of winning the award.

That comes after he posted a career-high 3.0 sacks in the Week 7 win against the Arizona Cardinals.
He’s not leading the league, but his impact has gone far beyond the stat sheet.
He’s kept opposing quarterbacks on their toes from start to finish, and his ability to generate pressure has been second to none.
Of course, he’s not going to have three sacks in a game very often, but he’s back on track to continue his streak of at least 12.5 sacks in each of his NFL seasons.
The Packers knew that they would have to give up a lot to get Parsons, and that was without the money they would have to pay him on a new contract.
Even though it’s too early for a final verdict, the early returns are very encouraging, and the Packers finally have the top-tier pass rusher they had been missing.
