The Miami Dolphins are heading into the final two weeks before the trade deadline as clear sellers, and while Bradley Chubb and Jaelan Phillips are two names to monitor closely, they could be selling away a lot more pieces.
Jaylen Waddle is receiving a lot of interest around the NFL, but the Dolphins aren't planning to move him. However, there's another big-money star that's worth monitoring closely.
According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, while far from a guarantee, he is keeping Dolphins All-Pro safety Minkah Fitzpatrick on his radar ahead of the trade deadline.
Dolphins' Minkah Fitzpatrick tabbed as trade candidate by ESPN insider
"Safety Minkah Fitzpatrick is also on my radar." Fowler writes. "So, while I'm not so sure a complete house-cleaning is in order, it would surprise me if the Dolphins stood pat. This is a team with roster concerns, and those eight 2026 draft picks won't address them all."
A fire sale from Miami wouldn't be the most surprising thing this deadline, but extending their sell-off to Fitzpatrick would be a very notable decision.
Aside from the Dolphins moving on from a player they acquired as part of the stunning trade with the Pittsburgh Steelers, in which they sent Jalen Ramsey and Jonnu Smith for Fitzpatrick and a fifth-round pick.
While a Fitzpatrick trade isn't likely, nor expected, it's at least something worth keeping tabs on thanks to this report from Fowler.

If Miami does part with Fitzpatrick, it'd be the second time they traded him shortly after acquiring him. The Dolphins traded him to the Steelers in 2019, just a year and a half after drafting him.
Six years later, the Dolphins could once again trade away Fitzpatrick in the middle of a season, not long after acquiring him, except this time, instead of a year and a half, it'd just be half a season before shipping him off.
In seven games this season, Fitzpatrick has one interception, five passes defended, one fumble recovery, and 42 tackles. He's signed with the Dolphins through 2026, with cap hits of $4.5 million in 2025, $18.8 million in 2026, and $9.7 million in 2027 in a void year.
Trading Fitzpatrick less than a year after re-acquiring him would be a surprising move, but it's not the most unlikely move based on the Dolphins looking to sell at this year's deadline. It's not a guarantee, but any Fitzpatrick trade rumors are worth monitoring thanks to this report from Fowler.
