Everton play host to Tottenham Hotspur at the Hill Dickinson Stadium this weekend, and Peter Crouch has made his score prediction.
David Moyes’ side put in a positive performance against Manchester City at the weekend, so there is good reason to be optimistic ahead of Sunday’s game.
Everton have ambitions of qualifying for Europe this season, so they’ll be targeting maximum points against a potential competitor in Tottenham.
Speaking on the Peter Crouch podcast, the former Spurs frontman made a prediction that just doesn’t match up to the data.

Peter Crouch predicts a score draw in Everton vs Tottenham Hotspur
Crouch reckons Everton will be held to a 2-2 draw by Thomas Frank’s side on Sunday.
“Okay, I’m going to go for Everton 2, Tottenham 2,” the 44-year-old said.
“I think Everton look good at home. I think they look good at home and they’re decent. I think Spurs, yeah, they need to bounce back.
“They’ve actually been better away from home than they have at home. But I think there’ll be goals. I think 2-2 for me.”
MORE EVERTON STORIES
Moyes’ side are yet to concede more than one goal at the new stadium, so Crouch’s prediction would require an impressive trend to come to an end.
The Scotsman has made the Hill Dickinson a real fortress, having won three and drawn two of the games there so far.
Everton will beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-1
The worry heading into this season was whether the new ground would retain that same Goodison Park atmosphere.
That question has been answered emphatically, and for that reason, it’s hard to see Tottenham containing the crowd.
There will be spells, especially early on and in the final stages, where they’ll have to suffer and really dig in, as the Toffees supporters spur their side forward.
With that said, it could well be a fourth victory at the Hill Dickinson for Moyes’ side, with Jack Grealish scoring on his return to action.
Perhaps Thierno Barry gets off the mark and nets his first goal of the season, too.
Prediction: Everton 2-1 Tottenham
