Sean Dyche is a no-nonsense manager who is far better suited to the Nottingham Forest job than his predecessor, Ange Postecoglou. That's the general view of many of the club's supporters in the Nottinghamshire LIVE comments section.

Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis wasted no time in appointing his third manager of the season after already parting ways with Nuno Espirito Santo and Postecoglou since the start of September.

The Reds are without a win since the first day of the season and now the task of reversing their fortunes has fallen at the feet of former Everton and Burnley boss Dyche, who has brought a host of ex-Forest players with him in his backroom staff, including Steve Stone and Ian Woan.

The 54-year-old is known for being a straight-talker who demands maximum effort from his players, and although not everyone is convinced by his appointment, the general consensus appears to be that Dyche can be the man to get Forest's season back on track.

One reader wrote: "This might actually be a decent move by Mr.M. All 5 have links to forest, SD can hopefully plug the defence. All 5 will know what it feels like at the WFCG, so will understand the expectations. A decent bit of man management and inspiration will go a long way. Anything is now better than AP. COYR, let's go. Good luck Sean and the rest."

Another agreed, writing: "I’m feeling positive about this! I agree that they weren’t playing for Ange. Consciously or unconsciously, I don’t know, but they definitely didn’t click. So, here we go again! Welcome Dyche and COYR!"

A third added: "No-nonsense coach who already knows you lot, he goes to most games. No pulling the will over his eyes... step up to the plate or you’ll be toast!"

"Had doubts but now realise he is the best man for the job to get the players binding again," said another.

Whilst most seemed happy to see Dyche given the opportunity, others questioned the wisdom of Marinakis and the judgement of Sporting Director Edu.

One time-served supporter wrote: "Been a Forest fan 68 years and I realised a long time ago we will never compete with the big 6 clubs who all have 50-60 thousand stadiums (Cloughie was a miracle that won't happen again) so we get used to being a Premiership club (hopefully) and maybe have a good cup run every now and then.

"And it's time to get rid of Edu because 5/6 of the players he's brought in this year aren't good enough. COYR."

Following the official club announcement, another wrote: "Suppose the statement says it all ‘built teams based on defensive resilience... qualities closely aligned with current squad’ etc. Can somebody now let us know if that is the case, why on earth was AP taken on as he offered the polar opposite?"

A more concerned voice argued: "How can they say Dyche is perfect, I just cannot understand these people who say such things. Look at his form look at the players we have. He must be carrying a magic wand, got to be.

"Why did Everton sack him? Why? Because his style of football was not working. It's going to happen at Forest without a doubt. His contract at Forest is not very good. 8 games, we will see. COYR."
