Professional sports leagues around the world have fully embraced the sports betting culture since its recent rise with fans placing bets on just about everything within games, but now one major league in America is having second thoughts about its presence in the space and how dangerous it can be.

NBA commissioner Adam Silver appeared on The Pat McAfee Show this week to talk about the league’s betting partnerships and how the sport may need to adjust its relationships in order to protect players, fans and others involved in the space.
"I think there should probably be more regulation on sports betting..

While Silver was quick to say that the league has been able to “monitor” sports betting on NBA games more than anyone could’ve anticipated years ago, there are still a lot of concerns about how many bets are being placed and even the dangers of players getting involved.
Former NBA star Jontay Porter was banned by the league for his involvement in sports betting, while other players like Terry Rozier and Malik Beasley have been investigated for their potential wrongdoing as well. It’s clear that none of the major leagues will stop gambling on their sports, but at least Silver is reasonable about the dangers.
