The Miami Dolphins are 1-6 after a tough loss to the Cleveland Browns, but not all has been negative for the team this season. Aside from Jaylen Waddle and De'Von Achane leading the offense, Darren Waller has turned out to be a great addition.
Waller came out of retirement to play for the Dolphins, a move that was questioned at the time and ahead of the NFL season. When he missed the first few weeks of the year, the acquisition looked even more questionable. But, since returning, he's been incredible.
However, as Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports, the Dolphins tight end is expected to go on injured reserve in a brutal injury update for Waller. His pec injury is forcing Waller to miss some time, as he's now out for at least the next four weeks.
The Dolphins place TE Darren Waller on injured reserve with a pec injury
"The Dolphins placed TE Darren Waller on IR because of his pec injury," Pelissero reports, "sidelining him at least four games, and promoted TE Greg Dulcich to the active roster."

Waller was in the middle of a great season despite playing just four weeks. He first suited up for the Dolphins in Week four against the New York Jets, where he caught three of his four targets for 27 yards and two touchdowns.
He followed an incredible debut in Miami with a solid day against the Carolina Panthers, catching all five of his targets for 78 receiving yards and one touchdown. In Week 6, he caught two of three targets for 12 yards and another touchdown for Miami.

But, he didn't record any targets or receptions in Week 7 as the Browns trounced the Dolphins 31-6. Waller suffered a pec injury and is now out for the next four weeks at a minimum.
While he can still return later in the year, he's likely to be out for the majority of the year. If this is his final stat line, then Waller will have finished the season with 10 catches for 117 receiving yards and four touchdowns, which leads all Dolphins pass catchers this season.
Miami losing Waller is a brutal blow amid an already brutal season. At 1-6, the Dolphins are likely sellers at the deadline, and Waller's extended absence now makes Miami even more likely to sell at the deadline than before.
