NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell Stands By Bad Bunny Performing at Super Bowl Halftime Show 2026

Roger Goodell is speaking out about Bad Bunny headlining the upcoming 2026 Super Bowl Halftime Show.

The NFL Commissioner has reacted to the pushback and criticism of the 31-year-old entertainer being chosen as the performer for Super Bowl LX in February, standing by the decision for the Puerto Rican native to headline, and even leaving the door open for other entertainers to join him on stage.

“He’s one of the leading and most popular entertainers in the world. That’s what we try to achieve. It’s an important stage for us. It’s an important element to the entertainment value, and it’s carefully thought through,” Roger told reporters on Wednesday (October 22), via THR. “I’m not sure we’ve ever selected an artist where we didn’t have some blowback and criticism. It’s pretty hard to do.”

He added that the Super Bowl halftime show has often featured guest performers with the headliner.

“I am not saying that there won’t be additional talent that might be involved but that’s always the way it works,” the commissioner said after being asked if the league was considering any changes to the halftime show. “We’re confident it’s going to be a good show, he understands the platform that he is on, and I think it’s going to be exciting and uniting moment.”
