Giants QB applauded for taking the ‘low road ... (Jesus) flipped some tables, too!’

Giants quarterback Russell Wilson is earning praise for finally standing up for himself.

On his late-night sports show, “Speakeasy,” which streams live after NFL prime time games, former Eagles linebacker Emmanuel Acho heaped praise upon Wilson, who had earlier clapped back at his former coach, Broncos’ Sean Payton.

“Russ, I am so proud of you for finally taking the low road,” Acho began, via X/Twitter. “Because every now and then, Jesus loved a lot of people, but he flipped some tables too, and I like flipping-tables-Russell-Wilson. ...

“Sean Payton wants to go to the podium now that (he’s) moved on to greener pastures, and Russell Wilson has moved on to greener pastures, and Sean Payton still wants to throw shade, because Russell Wilson is a kind man? Sean Payton thought Russell Wilson wasn’t gonna snap back?

“I love this Russell Wilson. Finally, he found the off-ramp and found the low road. He’s been on the high road. I’m tired of high-road-Russell-Wilson. And it’s not to say that Russell Wilson isn’t kind, but sometimes Russell Wilson, you got to let them know to stop trying you.”

After the Giants’ epic collapse, losing 33-32 after leading 19-0 entering the fourth quarter on Sunday, Payton took a veiled shot at his former quarterback in his postgame remarks.

“hey found a little spark with that quarterback,” Payton said, referring to rookie Jaxson Dart, via X/Twitter. “I was talking to John Mara not too long ago, and I said we were hoping that that change would have happened long, long after our game.”

Dart replaced Wilson in Week 4, after Wilson led them to an 0-3 record in the first three games.

On Tuesday, Wilson finally responded to Payton’s comments on social media.

“Classless… but not surprised…. Didn’t realize you’re still bounty hunting 15+ years later through the media. #LetsRide," Wilson posted. The post also included laughing emojis."
