Jeremie Frimpong had to be substituted off injured inside 20 minutes against Eintracht Frankfurt.
The right-back has found chances hard to come by since arriving at Anfield from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer for £29million.
Signed as Trent Alexander-Arnold's replacement, Frimpong is yet to adapt to the Premier League, making his only start in the league on the opening day of the season.
But the 24-year-old was starting his third consecutive Champions League game, but unfortunately for him and Arne Slot, his latest appearance ended within 20 minutes.
Frimpong appeared to pick up a problem moments before he was eventually substituted when he fought for possession near Frankfurt's box.

The defender came off second best from a tussle and tangle of legs and was seen wincing as he returned to his position. Just minutes later, the referee stopped the play as Frimpong signalled for attention while in possession.
Frimpong was replaced by Conor Bradley and will likely join Ryan Gravenberch on the injury table.
The situation got worse for the visitors soon after as Frankfurt took the lead through former Leeds defender Rasmus Kristensen.
But Hugo Ekitike levelled for the visitors with a calm, composed finish after running clear from the halfway line against his former club.
