Manchester United are back in Premier League action on Saturday when they face Brighton and Hove Albion.
The Red Devils defeated Liverpool 2-1 in their last outing, with head coach Ruben Amorim recording consecutive Premier League victories for the first time during his tenure.
That result lifted United up to ninth in the top flight standings, and Amorim will want to see his side kick on now after a sluggish start to the season.
In the meantime, it appears that United are keeping tabs on a former Premier League star.
As per Football Insider, the Manchester giants are monitoring Atletico Madrid midfielder Conor Gallagher as they look to bolster Amorim’s squad.
It is claimed that United boss Amorim has given the green light to the club pursuing a move for the midfielder, who left Chelsea to join Atletico last year.

Gallagher, 25, had played 95 times for boyhood club Chelsea before departing for the Spanish capital before the start of last season.
He has since featured more than 60 times across all competitions for Atletico, but the report claims that United have now identified him as a potential replacement for Kobbie Mainoo.
England international Mainoo has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford, and the report claims that United could look to sign Gallagher as a replacement.
It is claimed that the Premier League side were offered the chance to sign the Englishman towards the end of the recent transfer window, but the move never materialised as United ultimately signed goalkeeper Senne Lammens instead.
Gallagher, who previously had loan spells with West Bromwich Albion and Crystal Palace, is under contract in Madrid until the end of the 2028/29 season.
