Former Bills Rival Sends Blunt Warning Amid Recent Losing Streak

The Buffalo Bills will look to snap their two-game losing streak in Week 8 when they head on the road to take on the Carolina Panthers. However, according to longtime New England Patriots star Rob Gronkowski, that may be easier said than done due to some of the significant holes the Bills have currently on their team.

Buffalo’s limitations have been on full display throughout their last two games. Most notably, the Bills’ struggles defending the pass have been evident, allowing both New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye and Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Penix Jr. to throw for at least 250 yards in their respective Week 5 and Week 6 matchups.

Additionally, the Bills still have yet to have a No. 1 wide receiver emerge within their offense, with the likes of Khalil Shakir and Keon Coleman showing flashes, but a lack of consistency on a week-to-week basis.

As a result, Rob Gronkowski actually believes that the Indianapolis Colts are more dangerous than the Bills.

While this take is somewhat due to how well the Colts have been playing, Gronkowski also laid out his concerns about Buffalo moving forward as they look to stop the bleeding.

“I would say right now I actually trust the Colts more,” said Gronkowski during an appearance on the “Up & Adams Show”. “I am a little worried about the Bills. Their defense is a little iffy. They have been letting up a lot of points this year. Even that first game against the Baltimore Ravens, a lot of points. I don’t think their defense is doing that great. I don’t see them really getting much better as well throughout the year. So, yeah, they are a little iffy. And they need a big-play wide receiver. They have got a couple of guys, but they need a number one.”

It’s hard to disagree with much of what Gronkowski is saying here. Any team led by Josh Allen is going to be dangerous, but it seems as if something may simply be missing when it comes to the Bills being true contenders in the AFC.

Buffalo has been rumored to potentially be buyers ahead of the NFL trade deadline, particularly when it comes to the wide receiver position. So maybe they will get back on the right track with some moves that can bring impact players to both sides of the ball.

In the meantime, the Bills will look to prove Gronkowski wrong in a matchup that should certainly be winnable on paper for Buffalo, especially given the questions around who will be starting at quarterback for the Panthers in light of Bryce Young’s recent injury.
