We are at the stage of the season with the trade deadline approaching, where teams are either buyers or sellers, and for the Kansas City Chiefs, many are of the thought that they should be buyers.
But where? The offense is playing well, so too the defense, so there isn't an obvious move the Chiefs could/should make that would elevate Andy Reid's team more than what it already is.
However, that hasn't stopped the rumor mill from winding up and churning out theories, and one for Kansas City is that ESPN has called them a "fit" for New York Jets running back Breece Hall.
Right, let's go through it.
We don't have to go back too far to hear Reid's love of the three backs he has in Isiah Pacheco, Kareem Hunt, and Brashard Smith, with each offering the offense something different, and against the Las Vegas Raiders, all three did their job.
Is Hall a better running back than all three? You could make the case, but the Chiefs aren't a "bellcow back" sort of offense, and would Kansas City really trade draft capital for a one-year rental at a position where they have three good options already?
We think we know the answer to that.

Chiefs would need to "double dip" for Hall
Dallas Cowboys COO Stephen Jones used this term in the offseason, and double-dip refers to a team having to give up draft capital to land a player and then also pay them a new contract.
Given that Hall is on the final year of his rookie deal, and Spotrac.com has his market value at $9.7 million APY, do we really think the Chiefs would entertain that in offering him a new deal? Likely not.
Pacheco is 26 years old (also on final year of rookie deal), Smith is 22, and Hunt is 30, so there is a nice mix when it comes to the running back room, and there is no doubting that if Kansas City had Hall in the backfield, that would cause some serious distress for defenses.
But with Pacheco, Smith, and Hunt, Reid has his three-headed monster at running back, and right now, a move for a player like Hall just doesn't seem feasible. That's not to say they can't or won't, but it would certainly be a surprise.
