Unai Emery has confirmed Aston Villa are working on renewing the contracts of several players.

Matty Cash is understood to have agreed to a new deal, while John McGinn is also close to penning fresh terms with the club.

Villa are also keen to put Morgan Rogers on another new contract, despite securing his future until 2030 last year.

Like McGinn and Cash, Youri Tielemans is also out of contract at the end of next season.

Ahead of Villa’s Europa League match against Go Ahead Eagles, Emery was asked about the club handing out new contracts to a number of players.

“The club is working on individual situations, with Matty Cash, with Morgan and with John McGinn,” he said.

“Of course, they are very important players for us. Their commitment to Aston Villa is a massive commitment.

“They are always very positive and playing with their qualities - now they are showing they are progressing getting better and for the team it is very, very important.”

Villa put Tyrone Mings, Boubacar Kamara and Lucas Digne on new contracts in the summer.
