Davion Mitchell broke out last season as a solid NBA player.
On opening night of the new season, the Miami Heat guard made a case as a rising star.
He was stellar in the Heat's opener against the Orlando Magic, putting up a stat line unlike any in the history of the Heat to open a season.
Mitchell's final stats looked like this:
16 points
6 rebounds
12 assists (1 turnover)
2 steals

He's the first player in Heat franchise history to have at least 15 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists in a season opener, per StatMuse.
Mitchell, known as a quality defender, played one of the best offensive games of his career.
He probably wasn't thrilled at the end of the night, because the Magic were 125-121 winners.
But it's a big statement right out of the gate by Mitchell.

He's gotten known in the NBA for his resemblance to Donovan Mitchell. He's got a similar frame, name and even wears the same number.
They aren't related, but Davion continues to prove that he belongs in the league, too.
There's room enough for two No. 45-wearing D. Mitchells, apparently.
If Davion keeps playing like this, it'll be a big step forward for him in this new campaign.
