ALEX Scott is taking things one step at a time as he aims at his dream of reaching the England senior team.
The midfielder was a key part of the England U21 team that won the European Championship in the summer, which featured the likes of Harvey Elliott and Elliot Anderson.
The latter and Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton, who missed the Euros, are both young midfielders who have been a part of the senior side and are being talked of as possible call ups for the upcoming World Cup.
Asked if Anderson’s progression into Thomas Tuchel’s England had motivated him to potentially receive a call up of his own, Scott said: “The main thing for me was, getting into this \[Bournemouth\] team and being consistent in this team and playing at the level I know I can play at.
“Obviously, what Elliot's done and been doing has been brilliant, and he showed that last season, played every game and consistently at the top level.
“Same with Adam today, who's an unbelievable player, which I know very well. The competition for places at England is ridiculous. So many top players.
“And of course, it's a dream for me. I've got to be up to standard and playing consistently at this level, and playing well at this level to be considered as a England senior player.
“But it's a dream, and I'll keep pushing to get there.”
