San Antonio Spurs superstar Victor Wembanyama blocked Dereck Lively II at the rim before dribbling down the floor and hitting an isolation stepback 3-pointer that turned into a four-point play. It was utterly ridiculous, but everything the 21-year-old pulled off in the season opener seemed that way. Wemby had a reverse dunk in the second quarter that even he didn’t know was amazing. He was single-handedly destroying the rival Mavericks, and fans were loving every second of it.
Wemby has clearly taken a leap by upping his aggressiveness. He is not settling for jumpers and has unlocked a whole new level. The 7’5 big man can still shoot it from outside, as seen in the unbelievable clip, but this version makes the Spurs a serious threat in the loaded Western Conference.

Fans have to see the unbelievable sequence, but it was just a small glimpse of an incredible performance. Wemby’s training with monks may have involved feeding him the Monstar juice from Space Jam. He is literally that unstoppable, and it is only opening night.
The 21-year-old big man has massive plans for the Spurs, but nothing seems unbelievable after what he did to the Mavericks. This reverse dunk is unstoppable, but the block and stepback sequence is just not human.

The Spurs have confirmed he is human, but it is fair for fans to question it. Nobody in the history of the NBA can do what Wemby is doing at 21 years old.
The scariest part is that he should be significantly better moving forward. He won’t peak after just turning the legal drinking age in the US. That is absolutely terrifying for any other NBA team trying to stop him.
The San Antonio Spurs look like the surprise team that takes a massive leap this season, and Victor Wembanyama is the reason. He was doing it all in the season opener. There are no questions about his health or what he can do after Wednesday night. Wemby is a top-five player and may be the best in the world by season’s end.
