Cooper Flagg can safely say that he has 81 more shots at it this season.
The Dallas Mavericks phenom Flagg made his NBA debut on Wednesday against the San Antonio Spurs at American Airlines Center in Dallas, Tex. Unfortunately though, it was a poor outing for both player and team.
Dallas was blown out by a 125-92 final score. Meanwhile, Flagg, who got the start at point guard for the Mavericks, went completely scoreless in the first half. He ultimately finished with 8 points on 4/13 shooting with 10 rebounds, zero assists, and three turnovers. Flagg was also a game-worst -31 in his 31 minutes of action.
As a result of his shoddy first day at the office, Flagg received the meme treatment over social media. Check out some of the funniest posts at his expense.

In fairness to Flagg, the No. 1 overall pick in this year’s draft, he is a natural forward who was playing at point guard Wednesday in Dallas’ attempt to experiment amid the absence of Kyrie Irving (ACL). Point guard is also notoriously the toughest new position to learn in the NBA, so some growing pains were likely inenvitable for Flagg.
But the former National College Player of the Year Flagg was one of the most hyped-up prospects of the 21st century, so everything that he does (good or bad) will inevitably be magnified. That said, Flagg stock is definitely down right now after his brutal NBA debut and also after an unflattering video of him went viral a few weeks ago.
