Chelsea were comfortable victors in their third Champions League group stage game against Ajax, in a match where plenty of history was made.
Enzo Maresca’s risk to heavily rotate his side from the win against Nottingham Forest was vindicated when the Blues took just 18 minutes to break down their opponents, who were already down to 10 men.
They would end up running out 5-1 winners in West London, with the manager able to take off key players Moises Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez ahead of their next Premier League game against Sunderland.

Every record broken in Chelsea 5-1 Ajax in the Champions League
Marc Guiu opened the scoring for the Blues, finding the net for the first time since his return to Stamford Bridge after his brief loan at Sunderland.
At 19 years of age, the Spaniard became Chelsea’s youngest goalscorer in Champions League history, however he was unable to hold on to this record for very long.
Estevao Willian was a nuisance all night for the Ajax defenders, and he scored his first European goal from the spot just before half-time.
In doing so, he broke Guiu’s record for being the youngest to find the net for the Blues in the Champions League, still being just 18 years of age.
The Brazilian’s penalty was the third of the first half, a feat which has never been reached at the top level of European football before. Fernandez and Estevao’s strikes came after Wout Weghorst had temporarily halved the deficit from 12 yards.
Tyrique George would finish off the scoring just after half-time, and in doing so became the third teenager to find the net for the Blues on the net.
This also marked a first in Champions League history, with no club ever having three players under the age of 20 score in a single game before.

Elsewhere in attack, Jamie Gittens enjoyed his best performance in a Chelsea shirt to date, picking up his first assist for the club.
Throughout the game, he created five chances for his teammates, and in turn became the youngest player to reach this milestone.
He broke Eden Hazard’s record, and will now look to build on a very positive display and earn more regular minutes at Stamford Bridge.
With the game all but done, Maresca looked to the bench and sent on Cobham star Reggie Walsh for his Champions League debut.
Just two years after turning 17, the midfielder became the youngest player to ever feature for the club in the competition.
