Following their impressive victory over Liverpool in the Premier League, Manchester United will enter their home clash with Brighton brimming with self-belief this weekend.

With two challenging away fixtures against Nottingham Forest and Tottenham looming in their next three matches, securing three points at home could serve as the perfect launchpad to revitalise their campaign.

United's recent form against Spurs and Forest leaves much to be desired, however, and Ruben Amorim will be eager to rapidly reverse this worrying pattern.

Brighton also pose a significant threat, having triumphed on each of their previous three trips to Old Trafford.

United have battled with inconsistency throughout this campaign and their result against Liverpool should be the inspiration they require to build momentum.

Another international break awaits in November and Amorim will be desperate for his side to gather steam before club football pauses once more.

Legend issues Ruben Amorim ultimatum

United legend Dwight Yorke is pressing Amorim to alter his line-up ahead of the upcoming Brighton encounter.

Despite the emphatic triumph over Liverpool, Yorke believes new acquisition Benjamin Sesko deserves a starting berth.

"I think Benjamin Sesko needs to be Manchester United's starting striker," Yorke told Esports Bets. "We've seen the likes of Mason Mount and Matheus Cunha play in the position this season.

"But I think if you invest all this money in a striker, then you need to give him as much time as possible to adapt to the Premier League. I think he's a fabulous player and works extremely hard.

"He's playing in a team that isn't scoring as regularly as they want, so there's going to be times where he'll find it tough going, but I think United should stick with him because he's the best option for them in that position."

£50m expenditure delivering results

United stars made full use of the amenities at the revamped Carrington training complex following their victory against Liverpool, according to MailOnline, justifying the club's £50m refurbishment.

Half a dozen or more players utilised the ice baths, hot tubs and saunas following the match to assist their recovery, having just defeated Liverpool away from home for the first time in ten years.

Squad members arrived at Carrington at 11.30am for a pre-match meal and tactical briefing and didn't get back there until 9.30pm. Nevertheless, players opted to take full advantage of the amenities on offer.

Those who featured on Sunday underwent a gentle gym session and recovery work on Monday, whilst those who didn't participate faced a more demanding workout on the training ground.

Ronaldo linked with potential return

Cristiano Ronaldo might be poised for a comeback at United. The Portuguese icon re-joined the Red Devils in 2021 but departed in 2022 under acrimonious circumstances, having clashed with former boss Erik ten Hag.

Ronaldo could soon find himself facing his former club, Manchester United, in a mid-season friendly with his current team, Al-Nassr.

Former United assistant Benni McCarthy, speaking to Best Betting Sites, said: "I think the manner that he left, it wasn't a fitting manner for such an unbelievable, world-class player of his stature.

"So if that is the case that United get to play against Al Nassr, it will be a nice way for him as well to reconnect with the club that he's achieved so much with and the club that put him on the map in world football.

"It would [also] be a nice way for him to say goodbye to his team-mates. Because I know for a fact after that interview dropped he just left and we never saw him again.

"He never got to say goodbye to the players, to his team-mates and to the technical staff that was there. But this might give him a proper opportunity to reunite with the United faithful again. And the fans that will be there will give him a nice farewell, because that's what he deserves for what he's achieved at the club."
