Arne Slot cut a calm and composed figure after Liverpool were beaten on Sunday, refusing to rant and rave, and his decision was vindicated on Wednesday as his team produced the perfect response.
The Dutchman has rarely been one to let rip at his players and, even after their losing run was extended to four games with their defeat to Manchester United at Anfield, the head coach didn't give his players the hairdryer treatment.
It has been a conscious effort from Slot to always look in control of his emotions - something he has urged the players to do on the pitch. Rather than look rattled by the situation, he's always tried to smile down the camera rather than wear his emotions.
His approach over recent weeks, amid the worst run of results in 11 years, has been one of calm and the Reds' players clearly benefited as they produced a stunning response in the Champions League. Despite going down early to Frankfurt they responded with five unanswered goals.
The win in Germany got their European campaign back on track following their loss at Galatasaray last time out. Making inroads in the Champions League is a major goal for Liverpool after their premature exit in the last 16 last season.
Slot reads Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf in the mornings and listens to talkSPORT during his drive into work, so is well aware of the noise in the media. Despite being aware of the narrative surrounding him and his team he never looked like a man feeling the pressure.
Speaking afterwards he maintained their performance in Frankfurt was not miles off the displays they've produced when they've lost. Slot was also grateful for Liverpool getting their nose in front, insisting they could have far greater control of the game.

He said: "I saw a lot of similarities in the last few weeks, in the last few games we played. I also saw some differences. The similarities were that we already create a few chances before we conceded the first one and the first chance we conceded was usually a goal.
"In the end it turned out to be the only chance we conceded today. Why was that? Because we went 3-1 up and so then it's easier to control the game than when you're 1-0 down all the time."
