Everton scout attends Champions League game – Two potential names on the list

Everton had a scout in attendance for Galatasaray’s clash with Bodo/Glimt in the Champions League this week.

[That’s according to Sabah](https://www.sabah.com.tr/), who report that a host of club scouts made the trip to watch the game at RAMS Park on Wednesday.

They say that officials from Napoli, Roma, Everton, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Stuttgart all observed the match. They don’t make it clear who they were there to watch.

Those in attendance saw the Turkish side run out 3-1 winners thanks to goals from Victor Osimhen and Yunus Akgun. Andreas Helmerson was on target for the away side.

Sabah speculate that the scouts were likely there to watch Osimhen, Barış Alper and Yunus. All three were ‘particularly prominent’ in the game.

Alper has already been the subject of interest from Saudi Arabia, namely NEOM. They made an offer, but the Galatasaray turned it down, demanding €50m. More ‘attractive’ offers are expected to arrive for the winger in the January transfer window.

Everton have been linked with Alper in the past as well. Although they are very unlikely to spend €50m on him, particularly when that’s reportedly the same figure they need to spend to sign Jack Grealish permanently.

Another option being watched could be Davinson Sanchez. [He’s also been linked](https://sportwitness.co.uk/everton-given-boost-following-offer-club-need-sell-player-raise-funds/) in the past and with Jarrad Branthwaite out injured for an extended period after a hamstring injury, signing an extra defensive option could be a smart move for the Toffees.
