Chelsea continued their good form as they thrashed Ajax 5-1 in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
Marc Guiu, Moises Caicedo, Enzo Fernandez, Estevao Willian, and Tyrique George were the goal scorers for Chelsea, while Wout Weghorst grabbed Ajax’s consolation.
While the attackers had a field day against the Dutch side, it was a defender whose performance caught the eye of former Premier League goalkeeper Paul Robinson.
The game was the first time that Jorrel Hato faced off against his former side since his move to Stamford Bridge in the summer transfer window.
The defender was one of the ten changes that Enzo Maresca made to the starting line-up for the game against Ajax, and he managed to impress Robinson with his efforts on the night.
Though Hato had little to do against Ajax, Robinson was impressed with what he saw of the Dutchman and is eager to see more from him as the season progresses.

Paul Robinson praises Jorrel Hato’s contribution against Ajax on Wednesday night
Though the likes of Estevao Willian and Jamie Gittens stole the show against Ajax on Wednesday night, Robinson believes that Hato’s contribution also deserves some praise.
The 19-year-old did not have to do much against his former club, but Robinson was still impressed with his performance.
Jorrel Hato Chelsea
Speaking on Football Daily’s Champions League Debrief, the former Premier League goalkeeper said: “Estevao, Gittens, [Romeo] Lavia, they’re getting more game time, Champions League game time. Hato came in at left-back. I thought he was outstanding. He played really well.”
Before the game, Maresca claimed that Hato has had some trouble adapting. It is likely to be one reason why the Dutchman has not started too often this season.
But on the back of a strong performance against Ajax and given Chelsea’s ongoing injury crisis in defence, one can expect Hato to feature more often going forward.
