Huijsen, Carvajal and Alexander-Arnold expected to be available for El Clásico against Barcelona

Real Madrid defenders Dean Huijsen, Dani Carvajal and Trent Alexander-Arnold are expected to recover in time for Sunday’s El Clásico against FC Barcelona, according to a report from DAZN’s Sergio Quirante. Midfielder Dani Ceballos is also expected to make the squad list.

Xabi Alonso hasn’t made a decision on whether or not these players will be ready to feature in the starting lineup or not, although Fede Valverde will likely start at the right-back spot considering how long Carvajal and Alexander-Arnold have been out with their injuries.

Real Madrid will be looking forward to making a statement in Barcelona’s visit to the Santiago Bernabéu, as Los Blancos have not met expectations against elite opposition. If Huijsen can recover in time and start alongside Militao, Madrid’s chances of imposing their will against Hansi Flick’s men will be much higher, given Huijsen’s passing ability and his tremendous composure distributing the ball from the back line.
