Wolves in midweek scouting trip to Turkey – Champions League game on agenda

Wolves had a scout in Turkey this week to watch Galatasaray’s win over Bodo/Glimt in the Champions League.

That’s according to Sabah, who say Wolves were one of several sides to send scouts to the game. Galatasaray ran out 3-1 winners thanks to goals from Victor Osimhen and Yunus Akgun. Andreas Helmersen was on the scoresheet for the away side.

The newspaper reports that Wolves, Everton, Napoli, Roma and Stuttgart all sent scouts to watch the game.

They do not make it clear who any of the sides were there to watch in particular. They do say, though, that Osimhen, Barış Alper and Yunus were ‘particularly prominent’ in the game.

Barış has already been drawing interest, with Saudi Arabian side NEOM seeing a bid rejected in the summer. Galatasaray want €50m for him and are expecting bids to arrive in the January transfer window.

Wolves have not been linked to any Galatasaray players of late, nor have any Bodo/Glimt players been linked either.

But they were in Turkey this week to watch the game and Galatasaray players will be worth keeping an eye on as we head towards the January transfer window.
