How City's free football clinics empowered young players in Orlando

Looking back to our time in Orlando, Florida last summer, Manchester City delivered free football clinics to give local kids a chance to play, learn, and connect.

To support the club’s goal of empowering healthier lifestyles through football, last summer, we brought free community soccer clinics to Orlando. Giving local kids a space to have fun, a safe space to play, build skills, and connect with others.

Led by City in the Community (CITC) coaches, the clinics aimed to bring local children together in a safe and supportive setting and encourage teamwork, confidence, and skill development through play. The focus wasn’t just on improving technical ability, but also on developing personal growth. Helping participants build friendships, communicate effectively, and gain confidence both on and off the pitch.

The clinics were also supported by PUMA, who supplied kits and equipment to help deliver a high-quality experience for all participants. The sessions also included the PUMA and KidSuper activation giving participants a chance to explore the KidSuper bus and take part in interactive challenges.

Alongside the clinics, CITC coaches delivered a free Coach Education Day aimed at supporting local coaches and volunteers. The session offered valuable knowledge and practical guidance to help the coaches grow in their roles and make positive impact within their communities.
