West Ham have been given the chance to sign Barcelona keeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen, according to reports.
The German international is currently recovering from a back injury but he is expected to return to full fitness in December.
Ter Stegen is aware that he is now second choice behind Joan Garcia, and to increase his chances of being included in Germany’s World Cup squad, he is considering his options.

TBRFootball claim that the Hammers are one of several teams who have been made aware of the 33-year-old’s interest in a loan/transfer ahead of January.
West Ham may have competition from other Premier League clubs
It is believed that Manchester United, Chelsea, Tottenham and Newcastle have also been offered ter Stegen. However, not all of these teams are after a new goalkeeper.
Man United have only recently recruited Senne Lammens, while Newcastle have Aaron Ramsdale as their backup for Nick Pope.
Chelsea are said to be the likeliest of the four to be tempted by ter Stegen’s availability, having explored a move for AC Milan’s Mike Maignan last summer.
It remains to be seen if the Hammers will also join the race, considering they snapped up Mads Hermansen just a couple of months ago.
Ter Stegen has been hailed as the best in the world
Speaking in 2023, then Barcelona head coach Xavi was effusive in his praise of the German:
“He is very methodical, he’s a perfectionist. He has worked a lot and he was aware that he had to improve too. Right now, he is at an extraordinary level. I would say that, right now, he is the best goalkeeper in the world.”
“Even more so for us what we in terms of play. With the ball to feet in goal, he is perfect for us. Having Marc in goal makes me calm.”
