Barcelona delighted with on-loan forward but in no hurry to discuss permanent move

Marcus Rashford is off to a fine start at FC Barcelona since arriving on loan from Manchester United during the summer.

Considering his last season in England had been a bit of an up and down, there were some concerns about how he would fare at the Catalan club.

And even though he was off to a slow start, the Manchester United loanee has stepped up and performed exceptionally in recent weeks, especially in the UEFA Champions League.

Barcelona delighted with Rashford

As such, SPORT reports that Barcelona are extremely pleased with the performances of Rashford since joining the club.

At the same time, however, the La Liga champions are in no hurry to decide the player’s future at the club. Within the offices, there is a belief that it is still too early to take a firm stance, and they prefer to observe how his season develops before taking any action.

The plan is to wait a few months to see whether Rashford’s performances remain at the same high level.

If that is the case, the club would begin outlining negotiations with Manchester United. Discussions are not expected to be difficult, as the €30 million purchase clause was already negotiated and agreed upon last summer.

In the meantime, internal evaluations are highly positive. Rashford has adapted quickly to Hansi Flick’s system and the team’s dressing room dynamic.

He has fully understood what the coach asks of him, and off the pitch, he has integrated naturally, building strong friendships with several teammates.

The sporting management is pleased with Rashford’s strong impact and positive attitude, although a final decision will not be made in the short term.

This season has been demanding due to injuries, and Barcelona believe it is unwise to make long-term plans when the situation can change from week to week.

As such, Barça prefer to let a few more months pass, and if everything continues to progress positively, they will proceed with paying the agreed €30 millio amount to secure the player permanently.
