As many as 11 players could miss Tottenham Hotspur’s Premier League game against Everton through injury as eyes turn to the weekend’s action.

Spurs will be looking to bounce back from last weekend’s 2-1 home loss against Aston Villa when they travel to the Hill Dickinson Stadium for the first time on Sunday (4.30pm kick-off).

They were in European action on Wednesday as they drew 0-0 away at Monaco in the Champions League. Manager Thomas Frank had a number of injury concerns for that match and it’s no different for the weekend.

Long-term absentees James Maddison and Radu Dragusin will remain on the sidelines with both recovering from Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) injuries. Dragusin is further along than Maddison and could make his return next month after returning to training on the grass.

Maddison is expected to miss the majority of the season having suffered the injury during the preparations for the new campaign. Four more players in Ben Davies, Dejan Kulusevski, Dominic Solanke and Yves Bissouma are also expected to miss the game through injury.

Both Davies and Bissouma picked up injuries while on international duty with Wales and Mali, respectively, earlier this month, although little is known about the former’s injury. Bissouma has confirmed on social media that he has undergone surgery in an ankle injury.

Kulusevski is continuing his recovery from a patella injury suffered back in May, while Solanke is stepping up his recovery from a minor ankle procedure. There is more of a waiting game for Frank over three more players. Cristian Romero was forced to pull out of last week’s game against Aston Villa with an adductor injury in the warm-up.

Following the game, Frank admitted he didn’t know if Romero would be available against Monaco, but he was not part of the squad for the Champions League clash. It’s a similar situation for Destiny Udogie who missed the Villa game and the clash against Monaco with a ‘minor irritation’ to his knee.

Kota Takai has returned to full training with the team, but missed the game vs Villa. He was not eligible for the game vs Monaco due to being left out of the Champions League squad.

It’s not just Spurs who have nervous waits on players potentially returning from injury ahead of the game. Everton boss David Moyes will also be waiting on news on full-back Nathan Patterson.

He picked up an injury while on international duty, causing him to miss last weekend’s 2-0 defeat vs Man City.

Another player who missed that game was Jack Grealish, but that was due to him being ineligible to face his parent club. He therefore should be back involved vs Spurs.

In a blow to Everton, it’s been confirmed that defender Jarrad Branthwaite has experienced a ‘complication’ in his recovery from a hamstring injury and is due to undergo surgery, ruling him out for longer than expected.
