The summer recruit quickly nailed down a place in the starting XI after his arrival and was impressive in the early weeks of the season, but was then sent off in the home draw with Aston Villa and slapped with a three-game ban.
[Sunderland](https://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/sport/football/sunderland/?ref=ed_direct) have won two of the three games Reinildo has missed, but Le Bris will be forced to make changes to his backline at Stamford Bridge after revealing Omar Alderete will miss the game because of concussion.
That means Nordi Mukiele, who impressed at right-back and set Sunderland on the way to their Wolves win with his first goal for the [Black Cats](http://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/sport/football/sunderland?ref=au) - is likely to move back across to centre-half and partner Dan Ballard, and Trai Hume will shift back across to right-back from the left side of the defence.

That leaves a space for Reinildo to go straight back into the side, but Le Bris also has the option of playing Lutsharel Geertruida at left-back. The loanee is comfortable playing at left-back and has come off the bench in Sunderland's last five Premier League games but is still waiting for his first start.
And that wait looks set to continue, with Le Bris strongly suggesting Reinildo will return to the starting XI.
Le Bris made clear his disappointment with Reinildo after the Mozambique international saw red for kicking out at Matty Cash in the draw with Villa, and with Sunderland impressing in the defender's absence, the head coach could have opted to further punish the full-back by making him wait to get back in the team.
But he said: "We'll see. Rei is a really important player. He started the season playing well. He made this mistake and apologised and worked well after.
"He's lifted the standards of the training sessions, played two games with his national team so he's ready to go and will be really important for us."
For a number of reasons, Le Bris has been forced to make changes to his defence throughout the early weeks of the season, but the Black Cats have still only conceded six goals in their opening eight games.
Le Bris said: "It’s important to build consistency, especially in this league. If you are solid and don’t concede many goals I think it’s better to build confidence and be competitive.
"We defined early the profiles we needed in the summer The alignment was good, from the owner to the recruitment staff."
