Everton’s Hill Dickinson Stadium is leading the way for modern Premier League grounds, but Birmingham City’s owner wants to go one better with their new stadium.
Sunday’s match against Tottenham Hotspur will provide Everton with an opportunity to stretch their unbeaten run at their new stadium.
The Hill Dickinson Stadium has become somewhat of a fortress for the Toffees in these opening months having taken eight points from a possible 12 in the Premier League at home.
James Tarkowski is enjoying the Hill Dickinson Stadium atmosphere despite his initial scepticism over leaving Goodison Park.
The work of Dan Meis can now be fully appreciated as Everton fans have had four Premier League games to get used to their new surroundings.
It is not just Everton fans who have been impressed, with Birmingham City owner Tom Wagner wowed by the Bramley-Moore development.

Everton stadium wows Birmingham City owner amid their own plans
Although it has only been open a matter of months, Everton are already planning to increase their stadium capacity in the coming years.
MORE EVERTON STORIES
With Birmingham City planning to develop their own new stadium, their majority owner Tom Wagner has visited the Hill Dickinson.
Speaking in an interview with the club’s media, Wagner shared what he loved about his visit to Merseyside.
“I will tell you, I toured Everton’s new stadium, and I stood on the last row at the end of their steepest stand. We will have two that are steeper,” he told the Birmingham fans.
“The view from that spot is exceptional, it’s so steep, I’m not exaggerating when you look at the goal in front of you it’s just there. When you’re at the front of the top tier and sat or standing, it feels like you’re in the front row when there’s 30 or 40 rows in front of you.”
Despite being unimpressed by the logistics outside the ground, Jamie Carragher loved his visit to Everton’s new stadium earlier this season.
Having left such a historic stadium like Goodison Park, Everton have done all they can to make the new stadium the envy of clubs across the country.
Everton have created some of the steepest stands possible
During a tour of the stadium, Sky Sports reporter Vinny O’Connor shared that the south stand is just 0.1 of a degree off the legal limit for how steep a stand can be.
“Working closely with our colleagues in the building control, we wanted to push the boundaries of what we could create to reinvigorate the fortress that is Goodison. That’s one of the things that fans told us they wanted to bring with us to the new stadium,” said one Everton spokesperson.
Everton’s new stadium has been a financial game changer for the club, with considerable new revenue streams being brought in.
Clearly, the work by the club and the likes of Meis is already inspiring those from other clubs in their own plans to improve their own facilities.
With one of the steepest stands in football, Everton fans will be expected to bring the noise on Sunday in their game against Spurs.
