Seahawks, Rams, Texans trade rumors from Fox Sports lend insight into deadline plans

The Seattle Seahawks, Los Angeles Rams and Houston Texans have all been lumped together in a recent trade rumor from FOX Sports.

We haven't heard a lot about the three teams as rumors continue to swirl less than two weeks out from the Nov. 4 trade deadline, although we have heard plenty of rumblings about the Seahawks possibly trading cornerback Riq Woolen.

However, fans of the Seahawks, Rams and Texans shouldn't fret because it sounds like they are very much interested in making a move.

According to Eric D. Williams of FOX Sports, Seattle, Los Angeles and Houston are three teams to keep an eye on in terms of those that could make a move ahead of the trade deadline, a source tells him.

Three other teams to watch for at the deadline are the Los Angeles Rams, Seattle Seahawks and Houston Texans, according to a league source. Los Angeles and Seattle are part of a three-way tie atop the NFC West standings, and both general managers, John Schneider (Seattle) and Les Snead (Los Angeles), have been aggressive in the past if their teams are in contention.

And like those two, Texans general manager Nick Caserio isn’t afraid to make a move. Both the Rams and Seahawks could use help in the secondary, while the Texans need upgrades at running back, tight end and along the offensive line.

"I could see the Texans making trades to try and get better," a source told Williams. "And the Rams and Seahawks making moves to bolster their roster."

The most pressing need for the Texans to address is no doubt the offensive line. C.J. Stroud has been sacked 15 times, which isn't terrible but isn't great, either.

The more telling stat is the Texans rank 30th in both pass-block and run-block win rate. If that doesn't improve, it won't matter who the Texans at running back or tight end, needs that pale in comparison to the offensive line.

That said, with the Texans sitting at 2-4, if things continue to go south over the next two weeks, they might be inclined to stand pat.

The Rams and Seahawks, both sitting at 5-2 and in a three-way tie for first place in the NFC West, are in different situation, as both look like contenders.

The Rams could use more help at cornerback. Darious Williams has been a pleasant surprise, but Emmanuel Forbes is not it and the injury to Ahkello Witherspoon left Los Angeles short on depth. Tight end and right tackle are two other areas the Los Angeles could add to.

Seattle has dealt with injuries to their talented secondary this season, but none of them are long term, so the need isn't dire there. However, Seattle's injuries do make it more possible they hang on to Woolen.

The Seahawks should be looking to upgrade their offensive line, though.
