The Golden State Warriors may have signed Al Horford this offseason, but they still lack a paint presence that neither he nor Draymond Green can provide.
During their first game this season against the Los Angeles Lakers, they succeeded because Deandre Ayton wasn’t much of a threat.
Against other teams in the Western Conference, which feature great centers like those of the Denver Nuggets, San Antonio Spurs, and Los Angeles Clippers, they will struggle.
If they want to solve that problem, Blue Man Hoop’s Peter O’Keefe proposes an idea that could solve all of their problems.
“A potential trade for 3x All-Star Bam Adebayo might just get real for the Golden State Warriors ahead of February's mid-season deadline,” O’Keefe said Monday.
“Unless they were willing to put veteran forward Draymond Green in a trade, Golden State wouldn't be able to pull off a deal for Adebayo until Jonathan Kuminga becomes trade eligible on January 15.”
A trade centered around Miami Heat’s Bam Adebayo to the Warriors for Jonathan Kuminga could very well be in play.
Right now, the Heat don’t seem to be a team that can compete for a championship, and it may benefit them to open up more minutes for 21-year-old Kel’el Ware.
Adebayo is a three-time All-Star, has made five All-Defensive teams, and fits the mold of a big man who can be a playmaker that the Warriors tend to lean on.
Kuminga would be given the chance to start fresh after this offseason's drama.
Although he now stated that he wants to remain with the team, it could still build unwanted tension in the locker room after everything that has gone on.
Adebayo could be the starting center that Stephen Curry and the Warriors need to capture their next championship.
