Late in the Utah Jazz's blowout win over the Los Angeles Clippers to begin the NBA season, the fans had an idea.
They began a chant: "We want Love."
Not love. Love.
They wanted Kevin Love to sub into the game for the Jazz.
The Jazz had no such plans, though.

Love is healthy and in uniform, but on the bench, he knew that wasn't in the works, and so he stood up and covered head coach Will Hardy's ears.

Why isn't Kevin Love playing?
The Jazz haven't specified particularly why Love is out, just citing "personal reasons."
The likely case is that Love and the Jazz have an understanding that he won't play now at risk of injury.
It seems like Love will eventually get traded or bought out, and if that's the plan, then it doesn't make sense to take a chance of getting hurt in the meantime.

Love last suited up for NBA action on March 21, 2025. He played just five minutes that night for the Miami Heat.
He was traded to Utah this summer, and he hasn't been bought out yet, but that could be coming.
In the meantime, fans will just have to keep searching for (L/l)ove.
