“Feel so good about my time there because damn near everything great in my life is because of my football career, and my football career starts, and will end one day, with Green Bay. So got a lot of love for all those memories.”
When asked about facing his former team, he stated, “This one would mean a lot more if it was in Lambeau just because of affection I have for that place and the hallowed ground of Lambeau Field and all the amazing memories that I have there over the years.” According to The Athletic’s Matt Schneidman, Rodgers ended with the following comment: “My football career starts and will end one day with Green Bay.”
So at some point, expect the Packers to sign Rodgers on a one-day contract where he’ll retire in a press conference in Green Bay.
For a lot of different reasons, the Packers facing off against Rodgers for the first time feels a whole lot different from when the team took on Brett Favre in a Minnesota Vikings jersey. For the most part, both sides have just reciprocated appreciation for the other this week.
