Baltimore Ravens: Land 32-Sack Artist for Much-Needed Depth

The Baltimore Ravens desperately need help at outside linebacker after trading Odafe Oweh to the Los Angeles Chargers in early October. Tavius Robinson, who has played the most snaps at the position and their co-leading sacker, suffered a broken foot in Week 6 and is expected to miss six to eight weeks, while Adisa Isaac remains on injured reserve with a dislocated elbow. Meanwhile, Kyle Van Noy is healthy after missing time because of a hamstring injury, though Mike Green has struggled so far in his rookie season, and David Ojabo has been a healthy scratch twice, failing to carve a significant role, logging just 59 snaps.

According to Jordan Schultz of FOX Sports, the Ravens have signed Carl Lawson following a successful workout. He is entering his ninth year in the NFL and playing for his fourth team. Lawson returns to the AFC North division, where he played his first four seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals, played with the New York Jets from 2021 to 2023 in the AFC East, and spent time in the NFC East last season.

Carl Lawson signed with the Dallas Cowboys in August 2024 but did not survive roster cuts, later joining the team’s practice squad. The team promoted the veteran pass rusher to the active roster in October following the injuries to the position. Lawson finished as the third leading sacker, recording 15 tackles, four TFLs, 15 quarterback hits, five sacks, and one forced fumble across 15 games, including three starts, and accounting for 41% of defensive snaps.
