Target eliminating 1,800 positions, laying off 1,000 workers

Target announced Thursday it would cut 1,800 positions from its corporate staff. The Minneapolis-based retailer last shed a significant portion of its workforce in 2015, when 1,700 employees were let go and 1,400 open positions went unfilled.
