Packers linked to trade for $15 million offensive lineman to help Jordan Love, Josh Jacobs

The Packers could be aggressive buyers at the NFL trade deadline, especially following this summer’s bold trade to acquire All-Pro edge rusher Micah Parsons from the Dallas Cowboys.

While cornerback and a complementary running back alongside Josh Jacobs could be atop general manager Brian Gutekunst’s top deadline shopping list, they aren’t the only needs Green Bay could look to fill on a roster that seems built to make a Super Bowl run.

Packers linked to trade for Browns OL Joel Bitonio

Green Bay Packers General Manager Brian Gutekunst talks with head coach Matt LaFleur during fifth day of training camp on July 28, 2025, at Ray Nitschke Field in Ashwaubenon, Wis.

The Packers’ offensive line has been beset by injuries and mired in inconsistency throughout the first seven weeks of the 2025 campaign, which could spark Gutekunst and Green Bay to look to add up front.

According to CBS Sports NFL analyst Cody Benjamin, Green Bay could be an ideal destination for $15 million Browns offensive guard Joel Bitonio.

“Cleveland probably shouldn’t be in the business of selling its most accomplished lineman,” Benjamin admits, writing for CBS. “While deploying a rookie at quarterback in Dillon Gabriel. But the Browns are in transition (as always), and Bitonio isn’t getting any younger at 34. Imagine if the seven-time Pro Bowler finally had the opportunity to line up in the trenches for a legitimate contender. He remains an interior staple.”

So far this season, Bitonio, 6-foot-4 and 320 pounds, hasn’t allowed a single sack and surrendered just one quarterback pressure, emerging as one of the premier interior linemen across the sport.

If the Browns mike Bitonio available, Green Bay is a logical destination, and he would fill a really big need on an offense looking to continue finding its rhythm.

New York Jets defensive tackle Jay Tufele (78) sacks Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love (10) during their preseason game on Saturday, Aug. 9, 2025, at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
