Former NBA champ says criticizing LeBron James has resulted in threatening phone calls

LeBron James is the face of the NBA, and this hasn’t changed in about two decades. The King has rarely ever put a foot wrong during that time, becoming one of the most successful players ever. His image off the court is that of a role model as well. LeBron is an example of success in nearly every aspect of life.

However, that doesn’t mean James is beyond reproach. He has been called out multiple times, even recently. The Decision was widely criticized, to say nothing of the recent ‘Decision: Part 2’, which turned out to be a Hennessey ad. However, criticizing LeBron isn’t as straightforward as some make it out to be. Jeff Teague explained why.

“Anytime you say anything bad about LeBron, people call you and say, ‘Hey man, leave LeBron alone,’” Teague said on his Club 520 podcast. I’m talking about it’s some real people be like, ‘You a funny guy. You a little too funny.’ Ain’t nothing getting by them. Their whole camp, they run the league.”

Teague spent his entire NBA career going up against James on various teams. He was an All-Star with the Hawks and won a championship with the Bucks. His podcast is one of the more popular NBA podcasts around. It seems none of that is enough to stop those who work to protect the Los Angeles Lakers superstar and his public image.
