NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - For the second time in two seasons, Titans cornerback L’Jarius Sneed will go on injured reserve. With the designation, he will miss at least the next four games.
Sneed suffered a quad injury in the third quarter of Tennessee’s 31-13 loss to the Patriots in Week 7.
That may have re-aggravated a previous quad issue from the prior season, which prompted him to miss the last 12 games of the 2024 season on injured reserve.
Sneed, in his sixth NFL season, started training camp on the physically unable to perform list. The Titans activated him on August 20 after he passed a physical. Sneed shared that he had surgery for the quad injury and had a clean-up procedure done on his knee in the offseason.
This season, Sneed tallied 26 tackles and three passes defended through seven games.
With Sneed sidelined on injured reserve, the Titans will look to depth players in their secondary to step up against the AFC South-leading Indianapolis Colts.
“Guys are not going to play the whole season,” Titans cornerback Roger McCreary said. “Injuries happen and stuff, and you saw it happen last year. Guys stepped up like ‘Bake’ (Darrell Baker Jr.), so we have guys like ‘Bake’ and Marcus (Harris) step up and play right away, so it’s nothing new to us. That’s part of the game. Next man up.”

Other players in the locker room echoed that sentiment in upholding their preparation regardless of who the starters are.
“I’m still preparing the same way I was,” Titans cornerback Darrell Baker Jr. said. “I was always preparing like I was playing, no matter what my role was that week. I’m still going to prepare the same way.”
Sneed’s absence could provide valuable reps and opportunities for rookie defensive back Marcus Harris.
“Just next man up,” Titans rookie cornerback Marcus Harris said. “No matter who’s up, who’s down, we all prepare the same way, so it’s just keeping that mindset and keep attacking forward knowing that the season still goes on, sadly, without him (Sneed), but it’ll be alright.”
The Titans visit the Colts at 3:25 p.m. Sunday afternoon.
