Al Michaels was forced to make a correction live on Prime Video's presentation of 'Thursday Night Football,' with the NFL correcting the legendary announcer regarding Will Reichard's missed kick.
During the Minnesota Vikings' matchup with the Cleveland Browns, Reichard lined up for a 51-yard field goal in the fourth quarter. While the attempt missed, it appeared that a camera cable was responsible. Despite the NFL acknowledging the error, it did not adjust the kicker's record after the fact.
And while Reichard was preparing to take another kick in the Vikings' game against the Los Angeles Chargers, Michaels was forced to make a change to what he was about to say. Of note, Michaels was blamed for an "all-time jinx" after his Cameron Dicker remarks in the same game .

"The league wants to take my lunch away because I said before that Reichard's only miss was hitting a wire in London," the legendary commentator said during the game. "The league says, 'No, no, it was an optical illusion.' Not what Reichard thinks. Anyway, there you have it. We cleaned it up. No one's cleaning up our mess. My mess."
Despite Michaels claiming that the miss was an "optical illusion," the unofficial position is that there was no clear view of the ball hitting the cable, according to NBC Sports. What's more, the NFL has yet to adequately explain what happened during that fateful moment.
At the time, Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell shared his thoughts on the controversial moment and believed it would behoove the league to have an official alerting those on the field that an incident had occurred.

"But other than maybe somebody in the booth alerting me that they saw it, or Will himself is going to be a critical guy in that moment, but a lot of times a kicker is a lot like a golf swing, they're keeping their head down and they might not see it initially," the head coach said at the time.

"He told me he thought he hit it well, and Will doesn't end up that far off line, historically, since our time having him here. But yeah, not really sure what to say on that one other than that it was unfortunate if it did happen, and if it didn't, so be it."
